Stephanie McSharry, LCSW, CADC, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Creative Arts Therapist.

I fell in love with theatre at an early age, finding theatre to be immensely therapeutic for both myself and others growing up. I spent several years working in theatre, even touring around the country as part of a National Touring Company. Theatre was not my only passion, I was also very dedicated to social justice and helping others through social work. My love for theatre and social work eventually found me going back to school to pursue a counseling degree. I received Bachelor’s degrees in both Theatre and Social Work and went on to receive my Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.

I have over 10 years’ experience in the field and have worked in several agencies around Chicago providing a wide range of therapeutic services as well as clinical supervision. I have done extensive work with individual and group therapy. I utilize both verbal counseling and creative arts techniques when working with clients. My experience includes helping clients deal with personal stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, self-worth, life adjustments and relationship issues.

When working with me I provide clients a welcoming and safe environment to explore personal matters. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution and will work with clients to help provide a holistic therapeutic approach centered on each client’s unique needs.

I am also a firm believer in lifelong learning. I am currently attending a certification in Laban Movement Analysis program as well as pursing credentialing as a Registered Drama Therapist.

I am currently accepting new clients and may be contacted at (773) 453-6726 or
